This Warehouse Terms & Storage Policy (“Warehouse Policy”) applies to goods received, stored, inspected, handled, consolidated, repacked, or prepared for shipment by 1688Warehouse.
This Policy should be read together with our Service Terms, Terms of Use, Returns & Refund Assistance Policy, and any quotation, warehouse instruction, invoice, or written agreement issued for a specific order.
By instructing a supplier to send goods to our warehouse, sending goods to our warehouse yourself, or using our warehouse services, you agree to this Warehouse Policy.
1. Purpose of Our Warehouse Service
1688Warehouse provides China warehouse support for overseas buyers who purchase goods from 1688 and other Chinese suppliers.
Our warehouse services may include:
- Receiving parcels from multiple suppliers
- Identifying and organizing customer parcels
- Temporary storage
- Quantity checking
- Basic visual inspection
- Product photos and videos
- Return or exchange assistance
- Consolidation
- Removal of unnecessary outer packaging
- Repacking
- Preparation for international shipping
Specific services may vary according to the customer’s instructions and the quotation for the relevant order.
2. Contact Us Before Sending Goods
Customers should contact 1688Warehouse before asking suppliers to send goods to our warehouse.
We will provide the applicable receiving information, which may include:
- Warehouse address
- Recipient name
- Customer reference
- Parcel identification code
- Other receiving instructions
Customers should ensure that suppliers use the correct information.
Goods sent without the required information may take longer to identify.
3. Warehouse Address
Our warehouse receiving details may be provided directly to customers rather than permanently displayed on the website.
Customers should not assume that an old warehouse address, recipient name, or receiving code remains valid for future shipments.
Please contact us before each new shipping arrangement where necessary to confirm the correct receiving information.
4. Customer Identification
Customers may be required to use a customer name, reference number, identification code, or other warehouse reference.
This information helps us correctly associate incoming parcels with the relevant customer.
If a parcel arrives:
- Without a customer reference
- Under an unknown recipient name
- With incomplete shipping information
- Without a recognizable tracking number
- With incorrect warehouse information
we will make reasonable efforts to identify the parcel.
Additional investigation or handling charges may apply where significant manual work is required. Any such charge will be communicated separately where applicable.
5. Receiving Parcels From Multiple Suppliers
Customers may send goods from multiple 1688 suppliers or other Chinese suppliers to the same 1688Warehouse facility.
Different parcels may arrive on different dates.
We can hold earlier arrivals while waiting for the remaining suppliers to dispatch their goods.
This allows customers to consolidate multiple supplier orders before international shipping.
6. Warehouse Receipt
When a parcel arrives, we may record information such as:
- Domestic tracking number
- Supplier or sender
- Arrival date
- Parcel quantity
- Customer reference
- Basic package condition
Warehouse receipt confirms that the parcel has been received.
It does not mean that all goods inside have been fully inspected or verified.
Inspection is a separate process.
7. External Package Condition
If the outer carton or courier packaging appears visibly damaged when received, we may:
- Photograph the package
- Record the visible condition
- Notify the customer where appropriate
1688Warehouse is not responsible for damage that occurred before the parcel was received by our warehouse, including damage caused by:
- Suppliers
- Manufacturers
- Domestic couriers
- Previous storage
- Previous handling
- Inadequate supplier packaging
We will provide reasonable evidence where available to help the customer assess the issue.
8. Opening Parcels
By using our warehouse receiving, inspection, consolidation, or repacking services, the customer authorizes us to reasonably open supplier parcels where necessary to perform the requested services.
We may open packaging for purposes including:
- Identifying products
- Counting quantities
- Basic inspection
- Taking photos
- Taking videos
- Consolidation
- Repacking
- Verifying shipment contents
- Processing returns or exchanges
If a parcel or product must remain sealed, the customer must inform us in advance.
9. Basic Warehouse Inspection
Where included or requested, our standard warehouse inspection is a basic visual and quantity check.
It may include:
- Counting items
- Checking visible product appearance
- Checking for obvious physical damage
- Checking basic color
- Checking basic model information
- Checking obvious specification differences
- Taking photos
- Taking videos
The exact scope may depend on the product and customer instructions.
10. What Standard Inspection Does Not Include
Unless separately agreed, standard warehouse inspection does not include:
- Professional laboratory testing
- Electrical safety testing
- Technical certification testing
- Chemical testing
- Destructive testing
- Factory audit
- Detailed engineering inspection
- Regulatory compliance testing
- Long-term product testing
- Comprehensive functionality testing
These services, if available, must be discussed separately.
11. Additional or Special Inspection
Customers may request additional checking such as:
- Function testing
- Power-on testing
- Measuring dimensions
- Weighing individual items
- Checking additional specifications
- Detailed photo requirements
- Video demonstrations
- Repeated inspections
Additional inspection may involve extra charges.
Any applicable fee will be communicated separately.
12. Inspection Limitations
A warehouse inspection cannot identify every possible defect.
Some problems may be hidden, intermittent, internal, technical, or visible only after extended use.
Accordingly, inspection photos, videos, and warehouse checks do not constitute a guarantee that the products are completely defect-free.
13. Photos and Videos
Where applicable, we may provide photos or videos showing:
- Products
- Quantities
- Packaging
- Visible condition
- Labels
- Consolidation
- Repacking
Customers should review these materials and provide instructions promptly.
14. Customer Approval
Where we ask the customer to approve:
- Inspection results
- Product condition
- Consolidation
- Packaging
- Shipping preparation
we may rely on the customer’s approval to proceed.
Once approval is given, later changes may involve additional handling charges.
15. Product Problems
If we identify an obvious problem before international shipment, we may notify the customer.
Examples may include:
- Incorrect product
- Missing quantity
- Visible damage
- Wrong color
- Wrong model
- Obvious mismatch with the confirmed order
The customer should provide instructions regarding the next step.
16. Returns, Exchanges, and Refund Assistance
Where possible, we may assist the customer with:
- Supplier communication
- Returns
- Exchanges
- Replacement requests
- Refund requests
Such assistance is governed by our Returns & Refund Assistance Policy.
We cannot guarantee that the supplier or platform will approve a return, exchange, replacement, or refund.
17. Free Storage Period
1688Warehouse provides eligible customers with:
Up to 30 days of free warehouse storage.
The free storage period allows customers to wait for goods from multiple suppliers before consolidation and shipping.
Unless otherwise agreed, the free storage period will generally be calculated based on the warehouse receipt date of the relevant goods or the customer’s first applicable parcel for the consolidation cycle.
Where necessary, we may clarify the applicable storage start date for a specific order.
18. Storage After 30 Days
Goods stored for more than 30 days may be subject to warehouse storage charges.
Because storage requirements vary depending on:
- Number of cartons
- Volume
- Product type
- Storage duration
- Special handling requirements
the applicable storage fee will be communicated separately.
Customers should contact us if they expect their goods to remain in the warehouse for more than 30 days.
19. No Fixed Maximum Storage Period
We do not currently impose a fixed standard maximum storage period.
However, continued storage remains subject to:
- Available warehouse space
- Product safety
- Legal requirements
- Product condition
- Payment of applicable storage charges
- Customer communication
- Operational feasibility
We reserve the right to request that long-term stored goods be shipped, returned, relocated, or otherwise dealt with where reasonably necessary.
20. Long-Term Storage
Customers who require extended storage should maintain regular communication with us.
Additional charges may apply after the free storage period.
Long-term storage arrangements may be reviewed periodically.
21. Unclaimed or Abandoned Goods
Customers are responsible for responding to reasonable requests concerning goods held at our warehouse.
If:
- The customer cannot be contacted for an extended period
- Storage charges remain unpaid
- The customer repeatedly fails to provide instructions
- The goods appear to have been abandoned
we may issue reasonable notice requesting action.
Where permitted by applicable law and after reasonable notice, we may take appropriate steps concerning abandoned goods, which may include:
- Continued storage subject to fees
- Return to sender
- Disposal
- Transfer to another storage location
- Other legally permitted handling
Any associated costs may be charged to the customer where applicable.
22. Warehouse Receiving Fees
Standard receiving arrangements may be included in the customer’s agreed service package or quotation.
Additional charges may apply for special receiving situations, including:
- Oversized goods
- Heavy goods
- Palletized cargo
- Unusual unloading requirements
- High-volume deliveries
- Special equipment
- Repeated manual investigation of unidentified parcels
Where such charges apply, they will be communicated separately.
23. Special Handling
Special handling may be required for goods that are:
- Fragile
- High value
- Oversized
- Heavy
- Easily damaged
- Sensitive to moisture
- Irregularly shaped
- Difficult to store
Customers should notify us in advance of any special handling requirements.
Additional charges may apply and will be communicated separately.
24. High-Value Goods
Customers should inform us before sending unusually high-value goods.
Where appropriate, we may recommend:
- Additional packaging
- Separate storage
- Additional inspection
- Cargo insurance
- Special handling arrangements
Insurance is not automatically included unless specifically agreed.
25. Original Packaging
Customers who require original manufacturer packaging, retail boxes, branded boxes, gift boxes, collectible packaging, or other specific packaging to be retained must tell us before consolidation or repacking.
If no such instruction is provided, we may reasonably treat ordinary outer transportation packaging as removable where necessary for consolidation or freight reduction.
26. Removal of Unnecessary Outer Packaging
Where consolidation or repacking is requested, we may remove unnecessary materials such as:
- Courier bags
- Excess outer cartons
- Duplicate transport packaging
- Excess filling material
- Damaged external cartons
- Other unnecessary shipping materials
The purpose is to improve packing efficiency and potentially reduce shipment weight or volume.
27. Customer Packaging Instructions
Customers should clearly communicate any special packaging requirements before repacking begins.
Examples include:
- Keep original retail boxes
- Do not remove supplier packaging
- Separate specific products
- Add protective material
- Use reinforced cartons
- Add waterproof protection
- Apply fragile handling
- Keep products in original sets
Where special requirements involve additional materials or labor, additional charges may apply.
28. Consolidation
Once goods are ready, we may consolidate products from multiple suppliers into fewer cartons.
Consolidation may involve:
- Opening supplier cartons
- Sorting goods
- Removing redundant packaging
- Rearranging products
- Repacking into new cartons
- Preparing cartons for international shipping
Consolidation is intended to improve shipment efficiency.
29. Repacking
We may use reasonable judgment when repacking goods unless the customer provides specific written instructions.
We aim to balance:
- Product protection
- Package strength
- Shipment volume
- Shipment weight
- Shipping efficiency
Special packaging materials or unusually complex repacking may involve additional charges.
30. Freight Savings
Consolidation and repacking may help reduce:
- Number of cartons
- Actual weight
- Volumetric weight
- Overall shipment volume
This may reduce international freight costs.
However, we do not guarantee a specific amount or percentage of shipping savings.
31. Changes After Repacking
If the customer requests changes after consolidation or repacking has already been completed, such as:
- Reopening cartons
- Separating goods
- Repacking again
- Changing carton allocation
- Removing or adding products
additional handling charges may apply.
Any applicable fee will be communicated separately.
32. Final Shipment Information
After consolidation and repacking, we may record or provide:
- Number of cartons
- Actual weight
- Dimensions
- Chargeable weight
- Shipping-related information
International freight quotations may be based on the final packed shipment.
33. Prohibited and Restricted Goods
Customers must not send prohibited, illegal, dangerous, counterfeit, or restricted goods to our warehouse without prior confirmation.
Products that may require prior approval include:
- Batteries
- Liquids
- Powders
- Chemicals
- Flammable materials
- Dangerous goods
- Food
- Medical products
- Certain cosmetics
- Controlled items
- Branded or potentially infringing goods
- Other regulated products
Customers should contact us before sending any product that may have special storage, handling, export, or transportation requirements.
34. Right to Refuse Goods
We reserve the right to refuse, isolate, return, or otherwise restrict handling of goods where we reasonably believe that they:
- Create a safety risk
- Are illegal
- Are prohibited
- Are improperly declared
- Cannot be safely stored
- Violate warehouse requirements
- May expose us to legal or regulatory risk
Additional costs caused by such goods may be charged to the customer where permitted.
35. Product Information
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about the goods sent to our warehouse.
This may include:
- Product name
- Product type
- Quantity
- Value
- Material
- Battery information
- Chemical information
- Special storage requirements
- Other relevant characteristics
We are not responsible for problems caused by inaccurate or withheld product information.

This includes loss or damage caused by:
- Supplier packaging
- Supplier handling
- Domestic courier transportation
- Incorrect supplier shipping
- Previous storage
- Manufacturing defects
Where visible, we may document the condition upon arrival.
37. Warehouse-Caused Loss or Damage
We take reasonable care when handling goods while they are under our control.
If goods are lost or physically damaged as a direct result of our proven warehouse handling error, the matter will be reviewed based on:
- Evidence of the item’s condition
- Purchase records
- Declared or supported product value
- Circumstances of the incident
- Applicable law
- Any separate written agreement
Any liability will be subject to applicable law and any agreed service limitations.

- Defects existing before warehouse receipt
- Supplier production problems
- Problems that could not reasonably be identified during standard handling
39. Fragile Goods
Fragile goods should be declared to us in advance.

If the supplier sends fragile goods with inadequate packaging, additional repacking may be recommended before international shipment.
Additional materials or handling charges may apply.

Additional warehouse work requested after the standard service has been completed may involve additional fees.
Examples include:
- Second inspection
- Additional photos or videos
- Reopening packed cartons
- Resorting products
- Repacking again
- Recounting goods

Any applicable fee will be communicated separately.

Customers should remain reasonably available while goods are stored at our warehouse.
Prompt responses may be needed for:
- Product issues
- Inspection approval
- Return decisions

- Customs information
Delays in customer responses may delay warehouse processing or shipment.
42. Goods Ready for Shipment
Once goods have been:
- Received
- Inspected where applicable
- Confirmed

the customer should provide shipping instructions or approve the proposed international shipping arrangement.
